The sad stats behind Ljubljana design biennial identity
Each cheerful design application is a representation of unsettling data
BIO 26, the Biennial of Design in Ljubljana, Slovenia, just launched an open call for participation in the 26th edition, titled Common Knowledge. The biennial will take on one of the greatest challenges of our time: information. Concerned with the widespread crisis in information, BIO 26 seeks to harvest the best ideas that explore ways to creatively take charge and react to it, as well as to propose experiments and present alternatives to the ways we currently deal with information and knowledge.
Māgoa presents Urša Premik, a freelance fashion and portrait photographer, currently based in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Urša’s personal project with her grandma titled Super Hilda will be presented in a special exhibition, tomorrow, at Kresija Gallery. So, read more about her creative process and the vision behind the project in today’s interview down below.
Māgoa presents Ria Mort, a fashion photographer from Athens, Greece. She loves to experiment with colours, emotions and personal story behind the photographs, which are, according to Ria, the most powerful element present in photography.
“Amidst the cold, the rain and the occasional wet snow covering the ground, there they are, taunting or haunting us. Bare ankles in Winter.”
“Če bi me kdo vprašal, kaj je gledališče, bi rekla, da ta predstava.”
Māgoa presents Delfina Carmona, a talented photographer and art director based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her work is mainly centred around shadows, reflections and a modern spin on still life, which are accompanied by unique, sometimes rather witty captions. She also uses strong, vibrant colours, like red, yellow and blue, which add another dimension to her imagery. Take a look at her impressive portfolio down below.
Māgoa presents Klementina Tadin, a Croatian born artist from Split. A photographer and a designer of visual communication, whose photos are gently influenced by imagery of computer arts, illustrations and paintings.
