“It has always been my desire to create wearable and functional piece of art. Bags and clothes, for me are little sculptures that you can wear.”
Created by Brina Vidic, BRENCHA designs are inspired by historical and modern art, on the verge between classic and contemporary.
s u p e r s t i t i o u s collection captures the aestetic of superstition, the belief in supernatural forces that bring good fortune and shield from harm. The main element in s u p e r s t i t i o u s is a lucky charm, a symbolic, mystical object brining serendipity, good luck and happiness. Featured fashion accessories are embedded with found pieces of old jewellery, stones and mystical symbols. Combination of vintage and contemporary materials in the collection ties together the past and the numinous future. Visual inspiration for s u p e r s t i t i o u s is the film by Sergei Parajanov: The colour of pomegranates (1969) with strong symbolic costumes and scenography, featuring an Armenian aristocrat from 16th century, wearing an ornamented hat and garments. The collection captures the harmony between the aristocrats rich yet simoultaneously minimalistic costumes. The silhouettes in s u p e r s t i t i o u s follow the shape of a woman’s body, without restricting it. Garments convey the comfort of sportswear, in materials and detailing expressing prestige and luxury.
